Park Pride Day May 11: Love Your Park at Home Schedule
May 11th is Park Pride Day during Love Your Park at Home! Here are all the ways you can learn, share, and do to show off your park pride.
LEARN: about the Park Friends Network
Philadelphia has much to be proud of, and our public parks top the list, with one of the largest and most diverse parks and recreation systems in the country. Philly’s parks wouldn’t be what they are today without it’s 130 Park Friends groups - the community advocates and volunteers that show love for their parks year-round.
With each of their cleanups, jazz concerts, movie nights and fundraisers, these volunteers bring pride to Philadelphia’s parks. Learn about some of the amazing work they do in these Park Friends highlights!
DO: Connect with your Park Friends Group!
Find your local park friends group and connect with them by becoming a member, sending them an email, or connecting/following them on social media.
SHARE: What makes you proud of your Philly park?
Is it the weekly volunteer cleanups that your local Friends Group organizes to beautify the park? Maybe you're proud of your park's award-winning gardens. Whatever makes you proud of your Philly park, we want to hear about it! Share your story on social media and be sure to tag #loveyourpark.
