Habitat Restoration at Little Whitby Meadow
Little Whitby Meadow on Cobbs Creek Pkwy, PA 19143
June 14th
2:00pm – 4:00pm
Join Friends of Cobbs Creek to help make Little Whitby Meadow a better home for Monarch Butterflies!
The Monarch Butterfly is a beautiful but threatened butterfly species that relies on Common Milkweed as its host plant. Little Whitby has a great crop of Common Milkweed (see photo), but it is under threat from invasive Wild Hops! By removing the Wild Hops, we can give a boost to the Milkweed and the Monarch Butterflies!
Note: It is strongly recommended that participants wear long pants and long sleeves as we will be working in tall vegetations, and the Wild Hops can irritate the skin.
