How do I register as a group?

There are a few options for registering a group. You can invite group members to register on their own, create an account on GivePulse to reserve spots, or register on behalf of your group members using their names and email addresses.

Option #1 – Easiest: Invite group members to register on their own

  1. Find the event you’re interested in at loveyourpark.org/volunteer and click on the title of the event, for example “Aviator Park Service Day.”
  2. On the right hand side of the page, simply click on the link under “Get the word out” to copy the link.
  3. Share this link with your group members, inviting them to sign up.

Option #2 – Most Efficient: Reserve spots for your group by creating an account on GivePulse

  1. Find the event you’re interested in at loveyourpark.org/volunteer and click on the title of the event, for example “Aviator Park Service Day.” Make sure the event can accommodate your group size by checking the “Needed” column.
  2. Email us at volunteer@loveyourpark.org and ask us to reserve spots for your group. Be sure to include the desired event, group size, and group name.
  3. You will receive an email with instructions. Click on the “Claim” reservation button in the email.
  4. Click “Log In or Sign Up to fill out spots.” Either create a new account or sign in using your Facebook or Google account.
  • Your spots are now reserved! For additional efficiency, we urge you to also add group members’ names and email addresses when you can.
  • **Please let us know if your group size changes for any reason so we can make your reserved spots available to others.**

Option #3 – Most Organized: Register on behalf of group members (requires group members’ names and email addresses)

If you have a smaller group:

  1. Find the event you’re interested in at loveyourpark.org/volunteer and click on the “Register” button next to it.
  2. Fill out your own registration information.
  3. Click on the “Add Attendee+” box and add the name and email address of the person you’d like to reserve a spot for. Click “Add Attendee+” to add additional names and email addresses.
  4. Click “Continue.” Complete your own registration questions, and then click “Finish.” GivePulse will email all the addresses you uploaded to invite your group members to confirm or cancel their reservation.

If you have a larger group:

  1. Find the event you’re interested in at loveyourpark.org/volunteer and click on the “Register” button next to it.
  2. Near the top of the page, you’ll see “Who is attending?” and three buttons next to it. Click on the “Upload CSV” button.
  3. Click “Download CSV Template For Import.” Open the spreadsheet and add in names and email addresses of your group members. Save the file.
  4. Return to the registration page, and click on “Choose File,” and select the updated spreadsheet. Click “Submit.”
  5. Click “Continue.” Complete your own registration questions, and then click “Finish.” GivePulse will email all the addresses you uploaded to invite your group members to confirm or cancel their reservation.

Why isn’t my park on the list?

Most Love Your Park events are organized by our network of volunteer-based park Friends groups. Park Friends groups are community-based groups of neighbors who volunteer their time to host park clean-ups, plan events and activities in their park, and advocate for improvements. Park Friends groups choose whether or not to host an event in their park, as well as when to host it and what projects to focus on. Fairmount Park Conservancy and Philadelphia Parks & Recreation partner to provide resources and support to participating park Friends groups, the majority of which work to support unstaffed neighborhood parks.

Why aren’t there more cleanups during the week?

Because the vast majority of our Love Your Park cleanups are organized by volunteer-run park Friends groups, most of the cleanup events are scheduled on the weekends, when volunteers are available to organize and lead events. Each participating park selects the day and time that is best for their community. If you would like to schedule a volunteer workday for your group outside of Love Your Park Week, please contact the Stewardship team at Philadelphia Parks & Recreation.
