Volunteer in the Wissahickon Valley Park

October 13, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and Fairmount Park Conservancy for a tree planting and cleanup along the Wissahickon Creek!

The Wissahickon Valley Park was established to help protect the health of Philadelphia’s water. It’s since grown into one of our city’s greatest attractions. The Valley’s 50+ miles of trails, dense forests, rugged slopes, and shady creeks welcome over one million annual visitors- mountain bikers, anglers, and forest bathers alike. Spend the morning outside with us, exploring and giving back to this beautiful Philadelphia resource.

Wear sturdy, closed toed shoes, and clothes you won’t mind getting dirty. Make sure to pack yourself plenty of water, snacks, and to layer up! We’ll provide work gloves, but you’re welcome to bring your own.

This is an outdoor event, so we may need to cancel in the event of steady rain or thunderstorms. Please check your inbox the week-of for confirmations.

Projects are lead by Philadelphia Parks & Recretion and Fairmount Park Conservancy staff. All tools and materials are provided.

Register to volunteer here.
