Volunteers will be instructed in identifying and removing specific invasive plants, most notably English ivy and garlic mustard. As needed, volunteers will collect trash for removal. Please dress for the weather and working on the wooded hillside and near water. Be advised poison ivy, thorns, ticks, and mosquitos are found throughout the woods. Sturdy closed shoes, long sleeves, and long pants required for protection. Bring a bottle of water. Gloves and tools will be provided. The entrance to Carpenter’s Woods is easily accessible by SEPTA 53 bus and street parking is available. Activity is suitable for responsible teenagers through adults.
